Ascendent Technologies, working in conjunction with associate company FRAL, has developed the use of certain families of phase change materials to impregnate aramid fabrics. This results in vast performance improvement of the aramid material such as:

• Greater ballistic V50 values
• Higher structural strength
• Higher shock absorption
• Increased trauma reduction in soft armour - up to 60%
• Greater weather resistance

Armed with such technological capabilities, we are able to produce hard armour plates that have high structural strength and good backface signatures. This enables us to support armour makers with new helmet making materials that reduces layer counts up to 20% when compared with conventional phenolic resin systems.

Ascendent Technologies is also working to create new generation ballistic materials. Working in partnership with certain renowned weavers in North America, we make thermoplastic pre-impregnated materials that are geared towards the following preferences:

• Greater flexibility yet lower backface trauma
• Greater weather resistance
• Greater spike resistance
• Greater knife resistance
• Higher structural strength
• Improved fire retardant
