FUTURE Active Close Proximity Defense System

Ascendent is actively working with a technology partner to develop a close in defense active armour system.

It has several advantages:

• Light Weight - active system need not heavy base armour protection, only need is for small arms protection and from artillery fragments
• Defeats the threat at 2 to 5m distance, protecting the crew from the effects of thermobaric shockwaves
• Doubles up as a Non-Explosive-Reactive-Armour system when electronics fail
• Can be used in an urban environment
